Having had its UK premiere at the 2021 Glasgow Film Festival, Minari enjoyed a run on Small Screen Machine from the start of April to mid-May, when it added to the Screen Machine programme following the resumption of our service in May.

This tender semi-autobiographical drama delves into the immigrant experience. It follows a South Korean family who move from California to rural Arkansas in the 1980s looking turn a plot of land into a prosperous farm. Together the family adapts to their new surroundings in their own ways. But will this move succeed in allowing them to fulfil their own narrative in the American Dream?
