Riz Ahmed stars as Zed, a New York-based British-Pakistani rapper about to embark on a world tour that is expected to solidify his success. Before it begins, he returns to London to reconnect with his family, who he hasn’t seen for two years. Old wounds and divides surface, right as Zed is hospitalised with a life-changing autoimmune disease. Facing an unexpected and different future, Zed goes on a hallucinatory journey to help him reconcile with his family, and finally figure out who he is.
Co-written by Ahmed, this drama takes a thoughtful look at what it means to be British, at times delving into surreal and colourful sequences.
